I'm having trouble ranking for my main keyword and I was wondering if it's because my main keyword is directed to my homepage, which gets updated daily. What made me concerned about this is that I haven't updated my content in about 3 days, but now my page is ranking better! So now I'm wondering if this has an affect on my SERP. I notice that pages that get updated will do the Google dance for a while. Where as static pages remain pretty consistent with their SERP. I'm wondering if I should work on ranking my main keyword to a static page. Current Setup: main keyword - link

Question about a new site
I'm sorta new to Search Optimization for competitive keywords.
I have a blog type site with original content that I'm trying to rank for a keyword with about 100K in quotes. I release articles every 2 days. The domain has a suffix on the keyword. There are other sites like mine in the top 10. There is good on page SEO.
The site was indexed on the first day but not visible in the main index(only via site or info), Google bot is checking the site a many times a day, and updated the main index again yesterday(after 6 days). Yesterday it was ranking around 200 with the keyword and suffix - today it is not ranking at all. A visitor here and there the finds the site thru some of the articles. I don't believe it was sandboxed because its definately in the index.
Website Redesign - Lost ranking for all main keywods
Hello,
16 days ago I redesigned the website. Two days after I lost ranking for main keywords.
The most popular keyword get about 500.000 monthly searches and I was #2.
So after the 16 days:
There is still no ranking for the main keyword (not in 1000).
One page reapper for popular keyword like before the redesign (#2).
Url sctructure, all titles and meta elements are like before.
With improved version there are a few php files which generated new pages (+7.000 ) in index after the redesign. On the older version I didnt have on Homepage members, popular, newest.Later i blocked that new pages via robots.txt

Keyword Density in URL
I wanted to know about the keyword density in URL and what Google thinks about it.
Say if I have my main keyword : Keyword
Now say my domain is: fillerword+keyword.com (e.g would be hellomoney.com if "money" is my main keyword and "hello" is my filler word)
My main keyword is 2 words long and is pretty competitive. So let me take the example "personality development"
Say my domain name is freepersonalitydevelopment.com
I want to write an article about "keyword" advice. So my URL will look like
freepersonalitydevelopment.com/personality-development-advice
This obviously is very keyword dense. Will it look like spam? Or should I consider
Link Development - Which page?
Hi everyone,
Looking for your thoughts and opinions on my setup:
I have a ton of subpages which I would eventually like to rank in google for certain keyphrases. Only a few are linkage from the homepage but the majority are accessed through a main subpage of mine which has over 100 internal links to subpages which I would to rank.
Here is an example of my setup:
Domain: hockeycards.com
Main Subpage: hockeycards.com/pittsburgh
Subpage: hockeycards.com/pittsburgh/crosby cards
Google Removes Keyword Tool From Beta Status
After announcing the Updated Keyword tool to be in the final stages of the beta phase last month, Google has now fully launched it
The Updated Keyword tool has the best features of the previous two keyword tools, i.e., the Keyword Tool and the Search-based Keyword Tool. Both the previous versions has been removed from AdWords and what now remains on AdWords is solely the Updated Keyword Tool.
Core Benefits of the Updated Keyword ToolH1 H2 tags DO NOT get you better ranking
so in the last few months, i have unselfishly been testing out the so called H1 H2 tags to see if they really do rank a page higher,,,,because on one of my websites which is ranked on the first page of google, i did NOT use any H1 or H2 tags and i was still ranked on top, so this made me wonder, all this H1 talk and high ranking, i decided to place some of these tags on my main keywords and see how google handles it on the next index session.... so i placed on the very fop of my website my main keyword...Using backlinks to my homepage to increase rankings of ALL posts?
So I run a blog that I update daily and has an actual reader base. It is a site like Hypebeast.com, where I have built an actual community, not just a site I use to market a product to or capture emails.
I am not really targeting a specific keyword that gets lots of search volume. My site is updated with several smaller posts daily in a clothing/fashion niche and I am mostly concerned about long tail keywords. I dont really go for "skateboard shirts" as a keyword. I am more concerned about ranking well for dozens and dozens of long tail keywords like "DC Shoes Rob Dyrdek black t-shirt" or "Alphanumeric white spire plaid shorts" etc.
