I have a main blog up and running (houseoftech.co.uk). I wanted to start another blog but i do not have enough cash atm to get me a new hosting. I am however going to a buy a new domain for that blog. My blog's webhost is bluehost. And they give the option to host a new blog as a sub blog and assign a sub domain to it. ( With wordpress settings i can change the domain to the new domain i bought). My question was, will this be effective when it comes to SEO. Will it get indexed in the Google Search. The new blog I am trying to make is about money (entirely different f

Can I write about different topics on main domain where subdomain has another niche?
I have a domain which is like www.example.com; and I have a subdomain for that domain too. I have a great blog on that subdomain. But now; I would like to use my main domain to create another blog. My domain is related to Textiles & Fashion and have a related keyword on main domain.
Now my question is that- Can I use my root domain for making a blog with different niche? Suppose; I want to blog about Health on the root domain. If I start; will Google affect negetively on my site? Will I have any problem regarding SEO or any other things? This question has raised as; the subdomain is a fashion blog and the root domain is going to be health related blog. Sounds good or worst?
Any suggestions/ consultation would be highly appreciated.
using subdomains???...
HI! I want to create a blog and I don't know what to choose: a free subdomain or a domain? With the domain think is the problem I must pay for it all the time and I don't know how good will be the hosting... and the other problem is I don't know how good a subdomain can be for SEO. I brought the content of an old website of mine on Blogger a few months and even now it wasn't indexed... :d
There are free domains or blog/site services that can be trust?Old URLs showing up in Yahoo Site Explorer
I used my domain in the past as a personal blog/journal. Now I've decided to use it for my portfolio (instead of registering a different domain) because it's more suited for that purpose. So I've deleted the old blog from the domain and now I'm setting up the basic SEO for the domain in Yahoo Site Explorer (I've done Google WMT). I can see in YSE that the old URLs from the old blog is still showing up for the domain. So I've been trying to delete them but it's not happening which I suspect is because I've deleted the blog.
My question is, will these old URLs disappear and be replaced in Yahoo once I get the new portfolio site up and running and submitted? Or is there something else I have to do?Will links from main domain to subdomain hurt rankings?
I have a blog that ranks quite well in its niche and have close to a thousand posts. The problem is that it attracts a lot of comments, many of which are very long. I had wanted to move all these comments to a forum on a subdomain. Then I could place links on the blog posts to different forum threads with related questions and content.
I am wondering if this will hurt my blog on the main domain in terms of its ranking on Google? Will Google view these links to the subdomain forum as linking to an external site? Plus a new subdomain will be a PR0 so will it cause me to lose PR on my blog?
Any advice would be appreciated.Regarding domain name change on Blogspot
I purchased a custom domain and connected that with my blogspot blog...here's the blog:
onlinedatingproductreview.blogspot.com
changed to...
pickupyourdating.in
It has been around 3 days but it is still not showing any alexa rank, no yahoo backlinks and only 2 indexed pages by Google (which I posted after I changed the domain).
Am I missing something or should I just wait? I know the PR change will probably take some time. Please help.Selecting a Blogging Site
Ive actually never setup a Blog site for anyone. Typically, Im building custom applications so I just throw a new form and db table to handle a quick blog type feature for a few of my customers, but now I think I can use some type of pre-packaged blog system. My real question is why would I use something like Blogger.com versus Wordpress. Is it just a question of being able to host it? Are there advantages to hosting a blog site? Thanks for any points for either side. Our current blog has its own domain name and host and with services like Blogger.com it seems like our site may be overkill.Topic Replies: 1Is or is NOT Duplicate Content - Same content on add on domains? ? ?
Does anybody know - for sure from testing somehow if:
You have a primary domain on a shared server with a word press blog in the root and then put an add-on domain on the same machine/server and pull RSS feed info or just flat out duplicate posts from the primary blog domain blog into the add-on domain .... if Google God will penalize for duplicate content?
I have a client that wants me to do that for his different biz locations so his staff writer only has to post in one blog but it posts or feeds into the other 5.
I'm not looking for guesses here. I'm hoping to here from someone that actually knows from testing or has heard from someone they trust their outcome from trying to do what I explained above.
Thanks,
