3rd column not aligned -- please help -- CSS and HTML website.
Hey everyone,
I'm new to HTML and CSS and have been trawling the web for answers to my predicament.
So now I'm here because I need some help.
Basically the problem is that I have a three column website using CSS and HTML but the third column (called #sidebar2) is at the bottom of the page, while .text (middle column) and #sidebar1 (left column) are aligned. I want them all to be aligned. The header and menu are fine. Can anyone please make some suggestions?
Best and thanks in advance,
AF.

HI from too humid wakefield UK :-)
On this page -

Ive been doing a three column layout tutorial and hit a problem.
In my attempt to get the three columns to keep width consistent I added margin left properties but as the the screen shot illustrates ive got spacing issues.
Specifically where the question marks are in the screenshot there is lots of space inbetween where the content ends and the next column starts.
So my question is please how do I get three floated left columns to have content that sits in them without space?
Any insights welcome :-)Help with choosing a layout for my design. Elastic layouts losing favour?
It's been a long time since I did any CSS coding so I'm a bit rusty.
I'm working on a personal site at the moment and the basic layout is going to be 2 columns. The widest column will contain a further three columns for some of the text content. The narrowest column is going to house the main navigation and the logo. This navigation and logo needs to remain visible whenever the user scrolls down the page, preferably without using Javascript (I think it can be done with CSS alone). The column for the navigation and logo should ideally be a fixed width, with the main content column being flexible. Hopefully that made sense.
Center Alignment and Position Question
Main Site (Drupal):
Chrome/Firefox -> Center aligned. Skyscaper displays properly. Placement is hardcoded to 1325px though. Ideally it would be 20 pixels to the right of the main column.
IE -> Center aligned. Skyscaper displays properly. Placement is hardcoded to 1325px though. Ideally it would be 20 pixels to the right of the main column.
Forum (vBulletin):
Chrome/Firefox -> Center aligned. Skyscraper does not appear anywhere.
IE -> Far right aligned. Skyscraper does not appear anywhere.
CSS file for both forum and drupal is here: http://www.middleschoolhq.com/themes/platform/style.css
If anyone could help me with this, I'd greatly appreciate it!
-ChrisIE7 Layout issues - CSS Detective required
Hello
First of all I hope I am posting in the right area, please redirect me if not.
I'm fairly new to writing websites and I'm having some cross-browser issues: my listings website www.swingoutlondon.co.uk renders correctly in Firefox Chrome and Safari, but not on IE7 for Windows XP - The two floated columns don't sit next to each other, and the elements in the left-hand column ('Learn!') don't sit within their enclosing <li> elements.
The XHTML and CSS validated last time I checked, so I suspect this may be a bug in IE which I need to account for, but I can't fathom what's going wrong.
Any thoughts to get me started (and critique/abuse about the site itself) would be greatfully received.
Thanks
Leverethelp with 3-column layout
Hello all, I have a layout here that should be pretty easy because it is quite static, yet I'm having trouble getting the divs to behave. The layout is here:
http://hapkidobcn.com/tecs.php
Very much a work in progress right now. The problem I have is that I need the 3 columns in the center to be top aligned with each other and have a certain margin between them.
Absolute positioning solves that problem nicely, but then the div that contains them does not flow with the content because I just remembered that absolute positioning removes the element from the flow.
So the question is, what is the simplest way to obtain such a layout?
IE 6&7 CSS issue
Hello all. I have been pulling my hair out trying to get my website to display correctly in older IE browsers. It is designed as a 2 column layout with the left column containing 3 columns. In older IE browsers the columns do not set as 3 but ride the left - one below the other. I do not have much experience with CSS.
Here is my website.
Here is the style sheet
I don't expect someone to fix my problem, but if one of you gurus see something obvious I appreciate a few pointers. Thanks.
~Jason
