Okay, I’m a firm — and I mean FIRM believer in the value of LinkedIN as a business social networking site. I’ve blogged about using LinkedIn to gain some new traffic from an SEO practitioners point of view here. I’ve been ‘hooked-up’ by LinkedIN marketing folks for local press to interview me on using LinkedIN for business here. I go each and every day at least two or three times to view my Answers areas and home page updates too….and the real issue for me is the Groups areas…and what I find there.

We’ve just noticed that LinkedIn is down for the count this afternoon.The site was displaying some generic error pages at first and then started showing an web server error: “Http/1.1 Service Unavailable,” indicating that the network’s servers are being rebooted. Professional networking site LinkedIn has made several dramatic improvements. This may just mark a new day for LinkedIn.
Changes to its polling tool now enable business professionals to receive a more in depth view of poll respondents and get more social simultaneously. The polls can now be embedded and distributed through users’ websites (copy and paste functionality after polls are created) and on social destinations such as Facebook and Twitter.
