After a wait of almost 9 months — gestation I figure, Google has today launched their own RealTime search index and it’s LIVE and up for our use! And us Canucks are included!

Just a dang quick post to say how much I enjoyed the Google treatment of their logo in many of their foreign sites…ie this wasn’t done here in NA for either google.com or google.ca!

I’ve been banging away at the “new” Google BLEND search engine results pages now for 6 days….and I’m pretty well amazed, eh!
What’s that you say? A change to the way Google reports it’s findings for your search terms? And what does that mean for us SEO practitioners and our client rosters?
Not much, at least for our client roster, it appears — at least so far IMHO! But let’s get into this whole big change shall we?
Poll: On What We SEO Types Want to call Google PlaceSearch?
Okay, so Google just “blended” their algo — moving away from a seperate Places (Maps) algo and their Web Results ones and have combined same.
And the official Google name that they’ve chosen to use is “Google PlaceSearch” but like many SEO types, I hate that name!
And not only me it appears as many other SEO practitioners have made comments too, using their own name for this new combined serp results page…and I thought that as it’s Friday, I’d post a quick poll to see what we SEO types wanna call same!

The question of course is — does blogging help drive your serp rankings UP in Google….and answer is — yes!
Evidence is in….and has been noted by many many others SEO types on line over the past year or so, but it’s taken us this long to arrive at our own empirical evidence that yes, if you blog at least twice a week, you will see increased rankings and we’ve got the serp reports to prove same.Google Places:SMBs can now Respond to Reviews!
Yup, just announced yesterday, Google now allows a SMB biz owner to respond to reviews from customers or clients in the Google Places milieu! Which of course is great news, sort of….for one and all, eh!

After almost a full month of study, testing, analyzing and yes even some “praying,” the new blend between Google LOCAL/Places and it’s Web Results has been banged away at and we’re (so far) pretty happy, eh!
Oh, background. Info of course on this big change in Google and what they now show (as of Oct 27th) for Web Results can be found here. Google named this new blend it’s “Google Place Search” and while many of us have agreed with that term, our own Poll on same found that Mike Blumenthals’ own “Loco-Organic” was the choice of us SEO practitioners…but call it whatever you want, it’s here to stay, eh!
