I have a new client that I support the network and servers for they have a coldfusion site hosting on a server at their site.

Do to the cost of hardware they are looking it to moving it.

I have never done coldfusion so my question maybe dumb.

Can I just ftp the site to a host that supports coldfusion or does it use a database?

Adobe Releases Tweaked Security Fix For ColdFusion 13 weeks 2 days ago

Although there may have been a little bit of confusion the first time around, a security fix released by Adobe is now completely ready to make ColdFusion users safer. Adobe has resolved one small problem with the fix and all users would do well to apply the update at this point.
A little background information: as explained by a security bulletin, “Important vulnerabilities have been identified in ColdFusion 8.0, 8.0.1, 9.0 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX. The vulnerabilities could lead to cross-site scripting and information disclosure.”
It turned out that some sort of naming conflict cropped up when a fix was applied with Cumulative Hot Fix 4 for ColdFusion 8.0.1, though, which was unfortunate.

Application security firm Veracode has introduced a series of improvements to its SecurityReview automated static binary and dynamic web application testing service that provides developers with a cloud-based approach to improve software application security.
Veracode SecurityReview now features a number of new APIs and reference integrations that support security testing in popular Java, .Net, C/C++, ColdFusion and PHP development environments. Developers simply upload the executable (not source) or provide the URL to Veracode’s cloud-based platform at points of their choosing in the development lifecycle for automated static binary and dynamic web application security testing.

Blame Twitter! I was a technical reviewer for the ColdFusion 8 version of this book and, looking back, I failed to blog about it – I just tweeted it. My bad. Then the ColdFusion 9 version appeared and again, I just tweeted about it.

What stood out about the CF8 version was the engaging, easy to read style used to tackle real world problems in a pragmatic way, showcasing increasingly more advanced features in the language and the platform.
